Brief Introduction
Babybuds continue to sell gifts for new mums and baby since the birth of Babybuds® in 2002. They have continually strived to meet customer needs by listening to their feedback, and these needs are what determine the direction of the company.
Requirements
Before joining Datum Connect they had 'bugs' in their shopping cart which were causing problems and they were struggling with support from their existing website developers.
Baby Buds' primary requirement was a reliable and secure website where customers felt safe purchasing products online.
They also wanted their full list of available products available for purchase online, so potential customers could see what they were purchasing.
Lastly they wanted to integrate their purchases online to their accounting software (MYOB), so they could streamline the process as much as possible. At the time, their accounts person was spending two hours a day manually entering orders from the website into MYOB.
Solutions and Add-Ons
Initial solution: The shopping cart was integrated into MYOB and phone order form and all transactions, including phone orders, channelled through the website.
Babybuds have been a client for more than five years and during that time their eCommerce site has had some major upgrades:
- Growth or product range from 15 products to over 900
- A major restructure of product categories to cater for growth in the product range
- Three major design upgrades
- Promotional voucher system, gift vouchers and corporate discounts
- Member login and birthday reminders
- Website re-organised for search engine optimisation
- Implementation of most popular list and what's new list
- 2010 - addition of CRM and second major restructure of product categories and products
Results
Baby Buds generates more than 1 million dollars (AUD) in sales each year, with 90 per cent of orders coming from their website
